Germanium

Germanium is a silvery white element and appears most commonly in a brittle crystalline form. Germanium is widely used in electronics, serving as an excellent semi-conductor for components on different circuitry. It is also used heavily in the optical industry for its refraction and dispersion properties. Another unique feature of Germanium is that it is transparent to infrared radiation and so it is used in infrared spectroscopes. Recycling of this element is crucial as it is estimated that less than 10% of the currently mined Germanium is actually recycled, while demand for it is expected to rise.

We buy and recycle Germanium in many different forms and in any quantities. Typical forms include solid Germanium lenses, Germanium oxide powder and in ingot form. For a price quote or more information on this unique metal, please give us a call today and we will be happy to assist in any way possible.
